Towards Understanding The Sunnah
of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

The daughter of Dr. Idrees Zubair and Dr. Farhat Hashmi, Taimiyyah received an upbringing in a household focused on Islamic education. In her mid teens she completed her first study of the Translation and Tafseer of the Quran. With both her parents as her teachers, she has been educated in various Islamic Sciences, from Arabic Grammar to Fiqh, Tafseer and many others.
With her main interest being Tafseer, she has pursued extended study under their supervision and is currently teaching Quran through a linguistic analysis, alongside translation & tafseer at the Alhuda Institute. Her newfound love is the study of Hadith which she conducts at Alhuda every week.
She is a happy mother of two children and enjoys trying new things in her spare time. She believes every Muslim should learn the Quran & Hadith in order to bring meaning and benefit into their lives regardless of their roles.
There are 3 types of sunnah
1. Sunnatul Kauliyah – Sayings/statements of the prophet (pbuh)
2. Sunnatul Fiqhliyah – Deeds and Actions of the prophet (pbuh)
3. Sunnatul Takririyah – Approvals of the prophet (pbuh)
